KRYSTAL™ DMS – Community Edition Version 4.0 Released

Today, we released the all new KRYSTAL™ DMS – Community Edition Version 4.0. Lot of effort has been put in order to make this version of our FREE Document Management System.

This version has some of the new features like:

  • Document Console – Dashboard
  • Share Document as Email attachment
  • Easy Document Upload
  • Enhanced SMTP Server settings
  • New and intuitive user interface
  • Improved Document Viewer (Community Viewer)

The latest version is compatible with Windows 7 and soon we will release a version for LINUX systems. Users can now store up to 5000 documents and have up to maximum of  5 users. On default installation you  can login with following credentials.

User Name : ADMINISTRATOR

Password : admin

Document Management System in HINDI(हिन्दी), Gujrati (ગુજરાતી) , Marathi (मराठी)

We never thought about this when we started internationalization of our product. We started implementing French , German , Italian, Spanish etc. but we missed HINDI(हिन्दी), our national language(राष्ट्रीय भाषा).

After doing some small amount of research I found it is very easy to implement HINDI (हिन्दी) in our products. The KRYSTAL DMS – Enterprise Edition is now supporting HINDI (हिन्दी) user interface.

The new version of our Enterprise Edition is on its way. We have made substantial UI changes and are looking to support all major INDIAN languages (भारतीय भाषाएँ) like Hindi (हिन्दी), Gujrati (ગુજરાતી) , Marathi (मराठी) etc.

We will be done with new version by mid of next month till then take care !!

We have finally announces the release of KRYSTAL™ DMS – Community Edition Version 3.0.

The new and improved version contains a Document Viewer which allows users to View, Rotate , Zoom-in, Zoom-out , Flip documents like JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF.

KRYSTAL™ DMS – Community Edition V3.0 is on its way!

At Primeleaf Consutling we are constantly trying to deliver better products and services to our customers. Continuing our tradition, we are working hard to to release the latest version of our FREE Document Management System.

We have added few new features and fix all the reported bugs. We are currently testing our product and hoping that early next week we will release it for all our customers.

DMS is a lot more than digitization

A recent item in the news about missing maps caught my attention. The story cited how priceless maps of Mumbai, dating back to the 18th century had mysteriously disappeared from the “safe” confines of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai.

Here’s another true story. An army officer’s widow had trouble claiming her husband’s pension because she could not remember the Pension Payment Order; apparently this was the only way it could be tracked in the non-digitized system.

Both incidents could have been averted had the documents been digitized. But how could one digitize maps closer to the 18th century? The technology to do so was a long way from being invented.

Well, DMS or document management systems are not a recent concept. Digitization is just a new way of doing this. DMS can be traced back to the 1940s, when newspapers and print media companies applied imaging techniques to preserve physical paper-based documents for posterity.

However, DMS has evolved much since then to suit changing enterprise environments.

In today’s context, a document does not necessarily refer to a paper-based document. Events can be recorded using other formats such as audio, video, and animation. Users are exchanging Podcasts, graphics, video and audio clips; PowerPoint and PDF files using e-mail or pen drives. We have more user-generated content than ever before, and this throws up new challenges like explosive growth of unstructured data and duplication of data.

Then there are institutions, especially in the media and government sectors, which are digitizing millions of physical documents.

And documents are no longer stored on volumes within the enterprise; some prefer to store documents in the cloud, where these can be accessed from any part of the globe.

All this has caused DMS to evolve further. DMS is gradually becoming an Enterprise Content Management system (ECM). And industry people are now talking about the benefits of cloud-based solutions.

It was pending since some time but now we have made the KRYSTAL™ DMS – Community Edition available for Linux.

Just download the LINUX version of our web based Document Management System at ZERO cost. The version is absolutly free and comes bundled with it own database and application server. No additional software required apart from JAVA Runtime Environment 1.5 or greater.

Downlad the linux version and follow the instructions available on our site and your Document Management System will be up and running in less than 10 minutes.

KRYSTAL™ Document Viewer is now available

The new and improved KRYSTAL™ Document Viewer is now available. We have spent some quality time building and testing the product and are now finally releasing it for our customers.

All Enterprise edition customers will get the latest version of KRYSTAL™ Document Viewer absolutly free. Please contact sales@krystaldms.in to get your copy.

The new version has plenty of enhancements and few bug fixes. The performance is now much better and look and feel very soothing. The action command buttons are now moved on top of the screen for users to have a better accessibility and ease of use.

We will continue our efforts to enhance our products more and bring some more exciting changes. We are commited to building a best of class Document Management System in India and try to make paperless office dream come true.

New generation KRYSTAL™ Document Viewer is on its way…

There has been lot of activity at Primeleaf since last couple of weeks. We, at Primeleaf are please release the new and improved version of KRYSTAL™ – Capture Studio. So now it time to get going on new generation of KRYSTAL™ – Document Viewer.

We have already started working on the new design and layout. The base architecture will still be the same and it will still communicate with the back-end document repository in XML format only.

The idea is to give better features and ease of use to our customers… so stay tuned for more updates on the same…

New and improved KRYSTAL™- Capture Studio is released

With a great pleasure I am announcing the release of new and improved KRYSTAL™ Capture Studio. The Capture Studio is now available for download on our website at http://www.krystaldms.in/downloads/ . The current version works on all JAVA enabled Windows Platform.

The only software you require is Java Runtime Environment 1.5 or higher. We will be working on the release of non-windows version over coming weeks.

You can now move the documents from your desktop to KRYSTAL DMS Community , Standard and Enterprise Edition using this tool. Scanning functionalities are available with Standard and Enterprise editions.
