Standard Edition - System Requirement

KRYSTAL™ DMS software, completely written in JAVA Technologies and supports ORACLE, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Apache Derby, and PostGRE SQL on any Operating System.

It is build in Java and uses an XML interface to exchange documents.

Hence it is fully platform independent: all Windows Servers, UNIX Servers and all IBM e-Servers are supported.

Operating Systems Requirements

KRYSTAL™ DMS - Standard Edition fully supports installation of 64 bit Windows 2008 Server in a Virtual Server environment (VMWare, Citrix, HyperV) or on dedicated hardware in a traditional server deployment.

Following Database Server software can be used by KRYSTAL™ DMS - Standard Edition

  • PostgreSQL 8.0, 8.1,9.0
  • Apache DERBY 10.1

End User Requirements

Supported JAVA enabled web browsers for the document management system:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7+
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.0 +
  • Google Chrome
  • Safari 2.x +

Server Hardware Requirements

The following are basic specifications for required, minimum hardware to run KRYSTAL™ DMS - Standard Edition in a production environment.

  • A single, dedicated server or virtual machine server (Citrix, VMWare Server, VMWare Sphere, etc, Microsoft HyperV, etc) can be used to run the KRYSTAL™ DMS - Standard Edition Server Application and Databases.
  • The KRYSTAL™ DMS - Standard Edition application does not requires web server as it contains the web server and the application server
  • You can also run database server on a separate server or use an database server, as long as the version and service pack are supported, and it has sufficient capacity to run another application's databases.

Minimum System Requirements
Dedicated Server or Virtual Machine Server A dedicated server or virtual machine is required to run the document management Server.
Processor A modern Single Core or better AMD or Intel Processor ( Dual core recommended, Multiple processors is also recommended)
Server Memory To provide basic performance, we require the following
  • 1 GB server memory for Windows 2003 Standard 32 bit.
  • 2GB of Ram for Windows 2008 Enterprise.
  • We recommend 4 GB or more for best performance when using Windows 2008 Server.

If you are running virtualization on the KRYSTAL™ DMS Server, you must have at least double the memory for the host system, or better.
